WARNING!

THE HOT TUB STOVE IS MADE OF ALUMINUM AND CAN MELT IF

Water level drop more than 2 inches below the tub’s rim while in use. If water is displaced during or after use, refill the tub with fresh water until water level is 1-2 inches below the tub’s rim.

You start a fire inside the stove when the tub is empty or empty the tub while the stove is in use (still burning).

Please read and follow all instructions carefully before using hot tub to avoid injuries and/or cause damage to the hot tub.

Do not spray or try to put out the fire by spraying water inside the stove. Mixing ash and water will result in a chemical reaction that will breakdown the aluminum tub from the inside.

Do not sit or lean against the fence that separate the stove from the rest of the tub. The stove operates at a very high temperature so do not touch any part of the stove or vent stack during operation to avoid server burns and injuries

Wood hot tub is part of the experience of our farm stay. The process is enjoyable when instructions are followed. It can take up to 2 or more hours for the water to reach 100°.

When in doubt, please call us. We’re happy to help!

1. Plug + Fill

Use the small, handheld sprayer to quickly rinse and clean the tub. Use the red drain plug to cover the drain. Use the larger valve to fill the tub until it’s about 1-2” below the tub’s rim.

Filling can take between 10-15 mins to fill depending on the water pressure at the time of use.

2. Open Damper

Locate the damper on the vent stack (chimney) and turn it vertical (as pictured) to allow maximum airflow to help start the fire

3. Prep the stove

Remove the lid and start by stacking small twigs inside the stove. Position the twigs like a teepee to allow maximum airflow.

4. Fire starter + Longlighter

Fire starters and long lighters are both located inside the hallway closet. Only one (1) fire starter is needed.

5. Start Fire

Light the fire starter and wait for it to burn. You can add more twigs or larger pieces one at a time once the fire catches on.

6. Close Damper + Lid

Once the fire starts, place the lid on the stove with a 4-5 inches opening (as pictured) to allow air to flow. Turn the damper to a 45° position (as pictured).

Do not close the stove completely, this will snuff out the fire. Stove will not generate enough heat if the lid is left off or if the damper is not closed to a 45° position.

7. Stoke + Stir

Allow the wood (and fire) to burn toward the bottom half of the stove with amble room for maximum airflow.

Keep an eye on the fire and add more wood to keep the fire hot and consistent. Do not overload the stove with too many wood pieces at once.

Use the paddle to stir the water every 20 minutes and repeat until desired temperature is reached.

8. Is it working?

You can visibly see the stove heats the surrounding water by observing air bubbles and hearing the vent stack crackling.

Never attempt to feel the water near the stove or anywhere behind the stove’s fence.

9. Exit, Refill + Close

Every time you exit, water will be displaced. If water level drops below 2 inches from the tub’s rim, please refill it until it’s 1-2 inches from the tub’s rim again.

If you are done, exit, re-refill and close the damper completely to a horizontal position (as pictured). Then, close the lid completely to snuff out the fire.

Do not use water to spray the ash inside the tub. This will damage the inside of the tub and we will not be able to remove the water.

Do not drain the tub. Please leave the tub undrained to cool the stove or until you wish to use it again.

If you’re checking out, you can leave it undrained. Our staff will check, drain and clean the hot tub.

10. Cleaning

During your short stay, you might be able to use the stove twice before having to clean the ash. However, if ash is present, please wait until the coal is completely out before cleaning.

If you see ash or coal burning during cleaning, place them carefully inside the ash bucket and close the bucket lid to contain it.

Do not use water to spray the ash inside the tub. This will damage the inside of the tub and we will not be able to remove the water.
